Wall Street finds new edge behind Trump's presidential paywall

politics

Axios reported on Tuesday that Truth Social, President Trump's social media platform, launched a paid API service giving Wall Street institutions real-time access to Trump's posts before they become widely known. High-frequency traders and financial news organizations are paying between sixty thousand and one hundred thousand dollars monthly for this advantage. The service's value was demonstrated almost immediately: hours after launching, Trump announced he was canceling planned strikes on Iran, and oil prices fell nearly five percent. Trump Media, publicly traded with Trump as its dominant shareholder, has already signed at least five clients, adding roughly seventy-seven million dollars to the paper value of his stake. Congressional Democrats have launched an investigation and introduced legislation to ban the practice, citing conflicts of interest.
