‘Leicester Square, please guv’: Self-driving taxis cleared for London streets ‘later this summer’

Per The Guardian, Uber and Wayve have won London's first minicab licenses for autonomous vehicles. The companies plan to begin offering self-driving taxi rides to paying customers later this summer, with a safety driver on board initially. A full public launch is expected to follow.
