New Caledonia races to avert shutdown as new government takes office

RFI reports that New Caledonia's new government took office on Wednesday after its eleven members unanimously agreed on the allocation of ministerial portfolios. The immediate challenge: raising one hundred nine million euros by the end of August to prevent a complete shutdown of the territory's local administration.
