Ford picks "Fathom" for its affordable truck name, starts at $28,350

tech

Ford announced the Fathom, an electric pickup truck starting at twenty-eight thousand three hundred fifty dollars. According to Ars Technica, the Fathom is built on Ford's new UEV platform, designed by a California skunkworks team tasked with rethinking EV development from scratch. The truck features a zonal architecture that reduces wiring complexity by replacing over a hundred discrete control units with just a handful of powerful computers. The announcement represents a shift in strategy from Ford's earlier EV push, which focused on electrifying the traditional F-150.
