FCC Eliminates TV Station Ownership Cap in Win for Nexstar and Other Big Broadcasters

The Federal Communications Commission has voted to eliminate a longstanding national cap on how many television stations a single company can own. Per Variety, the two-to-one vote was backed by FCC chief Brendan Carr and commissioner Olivia Trusty. The change is expected to benefit large broadcasters including Nexstar, though legal challenges are anticipated.
