Trump administration to pay German firm $1.22bn to cut offshore wind leases

The Guardian is reporting that German energy company RWE has agreed to a one-point-two-billion-dollar payment from the Trump administration to relinquish its offshore wind leases and redirect investment toward fossil fuels. The deal marks the fifth such arrangement the Trump team has made with energy companies, offering substantial payouts in exchange for abandoning renewable energy projects.
