Social media giant Meta ordered to pay $567 million in New Mexico child safety ruling

A New Mexico judge has ordered Meta to pay more than five hundred million dollars, ruling that the social media giant created a public nuisance and harmed children, France 24 reports. The decision follows a March jury verdict that awarded the state three hundred seventy-five million dollars after finding Meta liable for exposing children to online predators and other harms.
