California woman who admitted to stabbing wife had also killed husband

The Guardian reports that a California woman pleaded guilty this week to second-degree murder of her wife, Rebecca Marodi, a decorated fire captain aged forty-nine. Rebecca was stabbed to death at their home in February twenty twenty-five, roughly a month after fighting the Eaton blaze—one of last year's deadly Los Angeles wildfires that killed nineteen. Yolanda Olejniczak Marodi, fifty-four, had previously served a decade in prison for killing her husband in the same manner.
