The Bond effect? How MI6 fascinates spy watchers around the world

A French news magazine has published the results of an unusual poll: a ranking of Europe's top intelligence agencies by the spies themselves. L'Express surveyed sixty current and former intelligence officers across Europe, plus representatives from the CIA and Israel's Mossad, asking each to secretly rank their top five foreign spy services. Britain's MI6 came out on top with two hundred fifty-one points, ahead of France's DGSE at one hundred sixty-nine. The British intelligence community is taking quiet satisfaction from the result.
