A second post-mortem on twenty-five-year-old Karachi businessman Mir Raza Ali has revealed multiple injuries, including fractures to his nasal bone and skull, along with a congealed black substance found in his mouth and throat, Dawn reports, citing Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed. Raza, owner of the eatery Wafflix, went missing on July twenty-eighth, and his body was found the next day with a gunshot wound near Shahi Qila Ground. The family's lawyer, Jibran Nasir, alleges Raza was tortured and murdered, though the police surgeon says the official cause of death remains reserved pending lab results on DNA, chemical, and gunshot residue samples. The exhumation followed a court order after a dispute over the original post-mortem findings, and investigators say the case remains open between the possibilities of murder and suicide.
