Sharks fitted with sensors could help scientists improve hurricane forecasts
science
Scientists at the University of Delaware are attaching electronic sensors to sharks to create a mobile ocean monitoring network. Per Times of India, these tags measure water temperature, salinity, and depth as the sharks swim through the Atlantic, transmitting data back via satellite. The researchers believe better understanding of these ocean conditions could help them predict how intensely hurricanes might develop.
