Houthi attacks kill 11 in Yemen and target Saudi refinery

Renewed fighting in Yemen has turned deadly: a medical source in the port city of Mokha tells AFP that Houthi attacks killed eleven people, including three civilians and eight soldiers, and wounded thirty-two more. Middle East Eye reports the strikes came alongside a separate Houthi drone assault on a Saudi Aramco oil refinery on the Red Sea coast, which Saudi officials say has been extinguished. The Houthis' military spokesman said the refinery strike was retaliation for Saudi drone incursions into northwest Yemen. A years-long truce between the Houthis and the Saudi-backed government appears to have collapsed last month, with the Houthis now declaring a maritime blockade of Saudi Arabia that runs parallel to Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
