How a Massachusetts cranberry farm became a thriving wetland

In Plymouth, Massachusetts, a former cranberry farm is now a thriving freshwater wetland. Times of India reports that restoration work beginning in twenty ten has revived over two hundred twenty-five acres of wetland and more than three miles of stream habitat. The project removed dams and barriers that had blocked fish passage for more than a century, and native plants and wildlife have returned. Thousands of migratory fish—alewife and blueback herring—are now swimming through areas they hadn't been able to reach in over one hundred years.
