DGCE SIG Seminar, August 27, 2026
science
NASA Science is hosting a seminar on galactic winds—the massive streams of gas that galaxies expel at high velocities. On August twenty-seventh at four p.m. Eastern Time, Ohio State University Professor Todd Thompson will explore how these cosmic outflows shape galaxy formation and evolution. Thompson will investigate one of astrophysics' most pressing open questions: the physics that produces cool, fast-moving gas far beyond a galaxy's boundaries.
