Govt remains committed to Balochistan’s flood-hit people

world

Pakistan's government says it remains committed to rebuilding flood-damaged homes in Balochistan, with the Ministry of Planning and Development reporting that over seventy-four thousand houses are under construction, including more than twenty-six thousand that have been completed. According to Dawn, the World Bank has raised concerns that a restructuring of the rehabilitation project has left over one hundred nineteen thousand verified eligible families without financing support. The World Bank Country Director has noted that excluding these households could worsen poverty in the province, and tens of thousands of grievances have been filed over the decision.
