APOD: 2026 August 14 – Total Solar Eclipse from Greenland

On August 12, the Moon's shadow swept across the planet. NASA Science reports that the path of totality reached through Greenland, Iceland, the Atlantic, Portugal, and northern Spain. A photographer on Greenland's east coast captured one of the first unobstructed views of the total eclipse, showing the sun's corona and the transient diamond ring effect at the moment totality began.
