Cells remodel actin normally without coronins, challenging textbook view
science
Phys.org reports that recent experiments indicate cells can remodel their actin cytoskeleton even in the absence of coronin proteins, overturning a long‑standing textbook view. Coronins, which are found throughout the animal kingdom and linked to immunity, development and cell survival, have traditionally been described as actin‑binding proteins. The findings suggest scientists may need to revisit how coronins are portrayed in cell‑biology textbooks.
