science

NASA has announced a new funding opportunity for instrument concept studies supporting the Habitable Worlds Observatory, a future space telescope designed to search for signs of life on distant planets. According to NASA Science, the program solicits proposals from U.S. institutions and researchers to develop and evaluate innovative instrument designs, assessing their scientific value, engineering feasibility, and technological readiness. Selected proposals will receive funding for approximately two years of concept-development work, with the proposal deadline set for October fourteenth, twenty twenty-six. The program specifically supports pre-formulation activities and does not fund hardware construction or flight components.
