Three firefighters killed and two injured while battling Utah-Colorado wildfires

Three firefighters have been killed and two more injured while responding to wildfires along the Colorado-Utah border, according to the US Wildland Fire Service. The firefighters were taking part in coordinated suppression efforts on the Knowles and Gore fires on Saturday. The Wildland Fire Service, established in January to coordinate fire suppression and prevention across federal lands, continues to manage intensifying wildfires throughout the western United States.
