US-led drills to end six days early, South Korea says, amid Trump push for Kim Jong-un talks

Joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea will end six days earlier than originally planned. Per The Guardian, South Korea's joint chiefs of staff confirmed the Ulchi Freedom Shield drills will now conclude on August twenty-first following a request from the U.S. side. This decision comes after Donald Trump ordered the Pentagon to scale back the exercises.
