A subsea cable project designed to connect Cyprus to the European Union's electricity system has stalled. Per Euronews, the Great Sea Interconnector, which costs nearly two billion euros, was intended to end the energy isolation of Nicosia and become operational in twenty twenty-four. The project is currently facing delays due to financing issues and the maritime ambitions of Turkey.
