Fly around Schiaparelli Crater with Mars Express
science
The European Space Agency's Mars Express mission has released a three-dimensional flight video showcasing the Schiaparelli Crater. Per ESA Space News, the crater spans four hundred sixty kilometers across but appears relatively shallow, suggesting it may have been filled over billions of years by lava, water, or wind-blown sediment. While early astronomers once mistook surface markings for artificial canals, researchers now believe the region may have once hosted a lake.
