NASA satellite rescue mission fails, swift telescope set to fall to earth

France 24 reports that NASA's thirty-million-dollar mission to rescue its Swift space telescope has failed. The unprecedented effort aimed to use a robot to move the satellite into a higher orbit, but the rescue spacecraft could not be controlled. Swift is now expected to re-enter Earth's atmosphere and disintegrate later this year.
