Pakistan and Google have signed a memorandum of understanding to advance the country's digital transformation, with students getting free access to Google's advanced AI tools, including AI Plus and Gemini, for one year. Dawn reports the agreement, signed at a reception hosted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also covers expanding digital skills, establishing an AI center of excellence in Islamabad, and using AI in agriculture and tax digitization. The Prime Minister's Office says the cooperation supports a goal of increasing Pakistan's IT exports and digital economy to thirty billion dollars by twenty thirty. Separately, Google opened its Karachi office this week and committed five hundred thousand dollars to digital safety initiatives for Pakistani families.
