Adding extra protein to snacks and breakfast may not be as effective for muscle growth as marketing suggests. As The Conversation tells it, building muscle requires resistance training to signal the body to grow, rather than just increasing protein intake. While the U.S. government recently raised the recommended daily allowance for adults to between one point two and one point six grams per kilogram of body weight, many healthy adults already consume enough protein through their regular diets.
