Chinese regulators tell Tesla to fix nearly 3 million cars

tech

Ars Technica reports that Chinese safety regulators have ordered Tesla to add warning labels to nearly three million Model three and Model Y cars already on the road, clarifying how to open the rear doors if power is lost. The mandate also requires a software update that will automatically lower the windows after a collision. While new rules taking effect next year will set specific handle dimensions for future models, the existing vehicles are grandfathered until the end of twenty twenty eight, meaning Tesla must address the current fleet now.
