‘Imran wants movement for his release expedited’
politics
Per Dawn, Imran Khan's sister says the former prime minister fears he'll be killed through isolation and has urged Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's chief minister to expedite a movement for his release. Dr Uzma Khan spoke after a brief meeting with her brother during a medical checkup, where he complained of being denied human interaction and described it as mental torture. She says he's suffering from anxiety and fears the same end as Egypt's former president Mohamed Morsi, and that he's had no access to news for ten months. The PTI-led opposition alliance has now announced a protest on September twenty-seventh, while a party spokesperson questioned the government's medical assessment, calling it a symbolic exercise.
