According to CSS-Tricks, CSS has quietly been gaining ground on JavaScript. Pseudo-classes have long let CSS style elements based on user interactions. But newer CSS features are expanding what CSS can listen for—handling user interactions that once required JavaScript. The boundary between CSS state management and JavaScript event-handling is blurring, giving CSS new capabilities for behaviors developers previously thought needed JavaScript.
