A Distant Stream of Stars May Offer New Clues to Dark Matter

science

Universe Today reports that a team of researchers led by a University of Copenhagen PhD student has identified a stream of stars extending more than three thousand light‑years from a globular cluster in a distant galaxy. The stellar stream appears to have been shaped by the gravitational pull of dark matter, the invisible material that makes up most of the universe’s mass. If the finding holds up, it could give astronomers fresh clues about dark matter.
