NASA Invites Media to LunaRecycle Challenge Finale Event in Alabama

Per NASA, the agency will announce winners of its LunaRecycle Challenge on Friday at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Up to fourteen finalist teams will showcase recycling systems designed to handle non-metabolic waste on future lunar missions. The competition, launched in twenty twenty-four, carries a prize purse of one point three two five million dollars, with top prototype awards of four hundred seventy-five thousand and two hundred thousand dollars. NASA notes the challenge drew more than twelve hundred registrations, a record for its Centennial Challenges program.
