NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Arrives at Hangar

NASA Science reports that the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope arrived on Tuesday at the SpaceX hangar at Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A, ahead of its scheduled launch. The telescope, which will study dark energy and map exoplanets, was transported overnight from the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility, where it had been in prelaunch processing since June. In the coming days, teams will mate it to a Falcon Heavy rocket, with a launch readiness review set for Friday and a launch targeted for Sunday morning. This will be the fourth primary payload for NASA's Launch Services on a Falcon Heavy, following missions like Psyche and Europa Clipper, and Roman is expected to launch nine months ahead of schedule.
