Finding the world's highest late Middle Pleistocene marine deposits

Researchers have documented the world's highest known marine deposits from the late Middle Pleistocene, found in southern Türkiye. Per Phys.org, Selma Sarı and an international team investigated the TOL-1 section in the Mut Basin, where the deposits sit nearly four thousand feet above mean sea level on the southern margin of the Central Anatolian Plateau.
