The Guardian reports the head of Australia's Productivity Commission is standing by an interim report that called the special GST deal with Western Australia a costly mistake. Angela Jackson told Radio National the commission's findings stand, after WA Premier Roger Cook dismissed critics as 'east coast clowns' and warned changes would rip six billion dollars from the state's economy. Jackson said Cook's comments crossed a line by attacking the commission's integrity, and insisted the process will not be influenced by the prime minister's remarks.
