WhatsApp to let users go by usernames, not phone numbers

According to Al Jazeera, WhatsApp is introducing usernames, allowing its three billion users to be discovered without revealing their phone numbers. The new feature gives users control over how they can be contacted—you can now choose between sharing your phone number or just a username with new contacts.
