science
NASA has established the Planetary Exploration Science Technology Office, known as PESTO, to manage and coordinate investments in planetary technology. As NASA Science tells it, the office focuses on non-nuclear, non-mission specific developments to help mature innovative tools for exploring the solar system. The program provides grants to corporations and universities to design new instruments that can eventually be integrated into future space missions.
