Vera C Rubin Observatory kicks off 10-year quest to map the cosmos

Yesterday, the Vera C Rubin Observatory began the Legacy Survey of Space and Time, a ten-year project to systematically map the southern night sky. According to Physics World, the observatory will photograph the sky every three to four nights, creating an unprecedented record of the cosmos over the coming decade.
