The Guardian reports that Greens foreign affairs spokesperson David Shoebridge said Australia's five million dollar commitment for flood-affected communities in Nepal won't come close to meeting the scale of the calamity. He argued Australia needs to step up and really commit to helping rebuild, and linked the disaster to the need to meet carbon targets and keep coal and gas in the ground, saying these kinds of disasters will continue at a more rapid scale unless that is addressed.
