Flash flooding that struck Nepal and Tibet has now killed at least four hundred sixty-nine people, Nepal police say, with roughly one thousand three hundred more still missing, many of them tourists. The Guardian reports Nepal's army is working to free about one hundred people trapped in a hydropower tunnel, while state media is reportedly saying China has halted rescue efforts at the epicenter of the Tibet disaster over the risk of further flooding.
