‘Confluence of errors’ led to Belgian tourist Celine Cremer’s death in Tasmanian wilderness, coroner finds

A coroner in Tasmania has found that a confluence of overlapping errors contributed to the death of Belgian tourist Celine Cremer, thirty-one, on a wilderness walking track. The Guardian reports she deviated from the track at Philosopher Falls in the state's remote northwest as dusk fell on June seventeenth, twenty twenty-three, four days before the winter solstice, with a lack of preparation for near-freezing winter conditions among the failures cited. She was reported missing almost ten days later.
