Congress seeks MP Cabinet’s dismissal for ‘shielding’ minister who made remarks on Colonel Qureshi
politics
Scroll.in reports that Congress on Wednesday urged President Droupadi Murmu to dismiss the Madhya Pradesh cabinet, saying it was shielding minister Vijay Shah from prosecution over remarks allegedly targeting Army spokesperson Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. The party’s state chief Jitu Patwari argued the BJP‑led government blocked a judicial process after the Madhya Pradesh High Court, on May fourteenth, two thousand twenty‑five, ordered a case to be registered against Shah. The high court subsequently booked Shah under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the legal proceedings are now moving forward under that criminal framework.
