Nano-sandwich photocathode improves solar conversion of CO₂ into ethanol

Phys.org reports that researchers at Charles University in Prague have engineered a new photocathode that uses sunlight to transform carbon dioxide into pure ethanol. The design tackles water‑induced degradation, achieves a record conversion efficiency and, according to the study, could open a path toward sustainable green‑fuel production.
