‘We owe it to history’ to defeat One Nation, PM tells Labor faithful – as it happened

politics

The Guardian reports that Australia's prime minister told Labor supporters that defeating One Nation is a debt owed to history. The same report has Barnaby Joyce using a sheep-and-cattle analogy to explain One Nation's migration policy, arguing that a proposed cap of 130,000 net overseas migrants would exclude short-stay visa holders, who typically stay less than a year. Joyce said counting them together would be like adding sheep and cattle into one total.
