NASA’s Dark Universe-Seeking Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Launches
science
NASA reports its Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launched Sunday morning aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The observatory is now on a three-month, million-mile journey to a stable orbit beyond Earth, where it will use its wide-field infrared vision to study dark matter, dark energy, and exoplanets. NASA says the telescope will survey the sky a thousand times faster than Hubble and send back one point four terabytes of data daily. First images are expected by early twenty twenty-seven.
