Ready to Roman: Caltech Teams Celebrate Telescope Launch, Look Ahead to Future

Caltech News reports that NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launched on Sunday from Kennedy Space Center. The observatory, which will orbit about nine hundred thirty thousand miles from Earth, aims to image exoplanets and survey the universe. Caltech and JPL teams helped build its coronagraph instrument, designed to block starlight and capture faint planets. The mission now begins roughly three months of commissioning before its science operations get underway.
