'They can come to Pakistan today': Khawaja Asif disputes claim of Imran's sons of expired Nicops

politics

Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif says the sons of former Prime Minister Imran Khan are free to visit the country whenever they wish. As Dawn tells it, the minister disputed claims that the brothers' National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis have expired, sharing partially censored document numbers that remain valid for several years. This contradicts assertions from the family and Jemima Goldsmith that the government has been deliberately denying them visas. While the government maintains that these identity cards remove the need for a visa, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting noted that entering the country does not guarantee access to visit the imprisoned former leader.
