Now Simões has turned to Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda for his new project, 'Winnipeg, Seeds of Hope,' screening at the Annecy International Film Festival. The festival also features 'Because Today is Saturday,' a Tallinn Grand Prix winner from Portuguese director Alice Eça Guimarães. According to Variety, the event highlights the Catalan animation scene's evolution toward more substantive storytelling.
