Autonomous vehicle hype is back, and Humble Robotics is bringing it to freight

The autonomous vehicle sector is showing signs of déjà vu. Travis Kalanick, the co-founder of Uber, has launched Humble Robotics, which aims to build autonomous systems for freight transportation. According to TechCrunch, the current rush of investment capital and competition for talent closely mirrors the autonomous vehicle boom of twenty sixteen. Back then, the sector was riding an equally optimistic wave—one that ultimately cooled considerably. Now, with billions flowing back in and tech talent being aggressively recruited, the industry appears to be replaying that same cycle, for better or worse.
