Thousands return to Malawi to escape South Africa's xenophobic violence

According to France 24, South Africa has been rocked by weeks of xenophobic violence that has claimed four lives. As thousands flee the country, approximately fifteen thousand people have returned to neighboring Malawi seeking safety. The unrest stems from protests demanding the departure of undocumented foreign nationals, with demonstrators blaming migrants for unemployment and crime. However, President Cyril Ramaphosa and human rights organizations dispute these claims.
