According to The Guardian, two fifteen-year-old boys in Hampshire have been sentenced to four years in detention after a court of appeal ruled their original sentences were unduly lenient. The teenagers had initially received youth rehabilitation orders—effectively no jail time—for raping two girls. Following national outcry, Attorney General Richard Hermer referred the case for review, and the court found the first judge had erred in his sentencing decision.
