“We cannot be in this journalism silo”: News Futures tries to grow a civic media field

News Futures held its inaugural convention in San Francisco this March, according to Nieman Lab. The event aimed to move journalism beyond isolated silos into what organizers call a civic media field. Darryl Holliday, opening the convention, captured the urgency: the world faces a polycrisis, and traditional journalism operating in separate lanes cannot solve it.
